The first week of lessons begins on Monday, June 23rd.
Children are grouped by SwimAmerica station number (1-10) and by age. If we have not seen a child before, we assume that they are at level 0. In the few instances where they are above level 0, our instructors are quick to realize it and we adjust immediately. Parents should feel free to let us know if that doesn't happen.
Parents will receive email reminders about providing SwimAmerica with a signed waiver for their children, and with their Waveny Pool pass number. Children will have to show their Waveny Pool pass to enter the pool every day.
All children should have a SwimAmerica certificate, and they will receive gold stickers when they complete the requirements for a station. We strive to award the stickers at the pool on the day they are earned. We also hope to provide email notification when children have earned a sticker. (But this feature is not active yet.)
If it rains, lessons are on. If it "pours" we may cancel. If there is thunder, we'll cancel. If we cancel, we'll change the voicemail at 855-SWIM, we'll notify the Waveny Pool staff, and we'll notify the New Canaan Recreation & Parks department. We'll also provide $10 credit for any canceled lesson.
